Touchscreen Smartphone Nokia X3 and X6

At Nokia World 2009 were presented two new phone line with the index X (short XpressMusic) - touchscreen smartphone X6 and a slider with an index of X3. Both of them should appear on sale later this year. Nokia X3 main features of the slider - working with the radio without a wired headset, 2.2 inch display with 320x240 resolution, 3-megapixel camera, memory card support up to 16 gigabytes, the possibility of charging from USB (there is a standard 2-mm charger connector) and integration with web services OVI. Expected price is at level 540 (!) And 140 euros for, respectively, the model X6 and X3. Frankly, the price for the X6 looks quite pessimistic, despite its built 32 gigabytes of memory.

The phone runs Maemo Linux and you know what the device looks really promising – We would even give it the title of the Best Nokia Phone Ever by simply looking at the specs.

Nokia has had tablets in the past but the hardware was a joke. And it was just a lame internet tablet – N810, N800 , 770 etc. But N900 has a SIM Card slot which means that you can use it as a phone as well. The Nokia N900 is powered by powerful ARM 600 MHz CPU and features up to 1GB of application memory and sports a OpenGL ES 2.0 graphics Engine acceleration.

Apple iPhone 3GS vs Nokia N900

Looks like Nokia is taking on Apple with the N900. The spec sheet of N900 looks more beefy than iPhone 3GS for sure. Lets compare the two monsters just based on the specs.

CPU OMAP 600 MHz CPU TI OMAP 3430: ARM Cortex-A8 600 MHz Tie
OpenGL 3D Graphic PowerVR SGX SGX535 + VXD PowerVR SGX - SGX530 Tie while we investigate
Memory 256 MB RAM 1GB App memory = 256 MB RAM + 768 MB Virtual N900
Browser Safari Mozilla based Full flash suppor N900
Networks GSM/EDGE (850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz)
UMTS/HSDPA (850, 1900, 2100 MHz)
Quad-band GSM EDGE 850/900/1800/1900
WCDMA 900/1700/2100 MHz
AT&T or T-Mobile ?
GPS Assisted-GPS with Digital Compass Assisted-GPS receiver if N900 carries N97's legacy GPS then , iPhone's Digital Compass is a winer

Looks like iPhone 3GS is going to have a tough time competing against the N900. and looking at the 3G Frequencies , It's most likely that T-Mobile gets the N900 and AT&T wont.  Also the N900 will be available only in select markets - Europe, Middle East, North America.
